A matched pair of natural septarian fossil stones dangle from sterling silver wires in these earthy earrings. They have a great pattern in hues of dark chocolate brown, black and streaks of beige. Black onyx stones and creamy beige glass beads were added as an accent. Septarian fossils formed between 50 to 70 million years ago as a result of volcanic eruptions. Dead sea life was chemically attracted to the sediment around them which formed mud balls. As the ocean receded, the balls dried and cracked, which created the spectacular patterns inside. They'll make a great gift for a fossil or natural stone lover!
